12:00 on the watch. 8:03 in your legs.
Parent Pace is a data field for Garmin watches. It shows your Stroller-Adjusted Pace (SAP), the pace you'd be running on flat ground with no stroller for the same effort.
Works on the Forerunner 970 and 965 during the beta. To join, email chris@parentpace.app.Same climb, three paces
The grade-adjusted pace (GAP) on your watch corrects for hills. Stroller-adjusted pace (SAP) also counts the 50-plus pounds of stroller and kid you're pushing, which get harder to push the steeper the hill.
What the watch shows.
Corrected for the 5 % hill.
Corrected for the hill and the 65 lb you're pushing.
Parent Pace's GAP is based on Minetti's study of running up and down slopes. Garmin and Strava have their own custom GAP slope curves, so PP GAP may read slightly differently from your watch's built-in GAP.
How the number is worked out →Setting it up
The field knows a run is a stroller run from the name of the activity you start. So setup means making a copy of your Run activity, naming it Stroller Run, and entering your stroller and child weights. The guide goes through it one button press at a time.

The field sends nothing anywhere unless you switch on anonymous sharing in its settings. If you do, each run sends a short summary with no name, GPS or route, and those summaries are how the formula gets better.
